Nigerians have been warned to desist from the consumption of soaked Garri, this must be done in order to avoid contacting Lassa fever.

The warning was given by Dr Boniface Okolo, the director of Public Health, Enugu state, he stated that this must be done in order to avoid contacting Lassa fever. 

He argued that rats are most times in contact with Garri and that the rodents are the cause of the disease, Going further, he said the consumption of Garri must be discouraged.

He pointed out that adding hot water would have killed the bacteria causing the disease.

Also, it was gathered that a young Nigerian man, Senator Adama hopes to reduce poverty and hunger in the country through Farm4me, an agritech start-up he currently runs.

With increasing population and looming food crisis in Nigeria, Adama is pioneering a new wave of mechanised and digital agriculture in the country.
