Liverpool fans have taken to social media to register their joy at the recommencing date scheduled for the Premier League.

The Premier League on Thursday confirmed June 17, 2020 as the time for ‘Project Restart’ following shareholders meeting on Wednesday which permitted close contact training to go ahead after a unanimous vote endorsed the decision. Arsenal, Sheffield United, Aston Villa, and Manchester City will kick-off having played one game fewer than the rest of the teams in the division owing to the latter two clubs’ participation in the Carabao Cup final.

Liverpool has a 25-point lead atop of the Premier League and two wins will see the Reds crowned Champions of England for the first time in 30 years.

The coronavirus was a distraction for Red fans after rivals threatened that the league could be declared null and void to make way for next season due to the agony many went through.

Many fans thought the winning the league was a bad omen for the Anfield club for the reason that Liverpool's closeness to winning the title was obstructed by a disaster which always contributed immensely to their loss.

The league leaders are likely kick-off against Everton on June 20 yet with matches set to be played at a neutral venue, the Goodison park might not be the grounds Liverpool might win the league trophy although the results of Manchester City’s game against Arsenal would determine when the Merseyside Reds would be crowned champions.

Liverpudians took to Twitter to share their comments on the news and mocked rivals on their earlier decisions.

"Everton fans bitter about us winning the title saying it will only be remembered as the covid 19 title. They dont understand when your massive like us its just another trophy in the cabinet. When we win it again next season it will be the same again," theredknight wrote.

"The VAR season. The weakest Premier League in history season. The tainted title season. The pandemic season. The Null and Void season. The Asterisk season. Dress it up however you like to help you sleep at night, end of the day it’s the Liverpool Premier League Champions Season," Stanley House wrote.

An Everton fan wrote that, "June 20th could be one of the saddest days of my life as an Everton fan seeing them redshites win that league as Goodison, it will kill me off I’ll never watch football again. This league should be Null and voided, it’s not even a real title win I fucking hate them gobshites!"

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the null and voiders at this extremely difficult time," LFC Vine wrote
