The District Chief Executive Asutifi North, Martin Adjei Mensah has expressed worry over a brouhaha by the Concerned New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth in his area regarding the District Chief Executive (DCE) position.

Angry NPP Youth in the Asutifi North district of the Ahafo region are calling on President Akuffo Addo not to re-appoint their current DCE, Honorable Anthony Mensah claiming that his performance for the past three years is nothing to write home about hence their calls.

The group calling itself Concerned NPP Youth in Asutifi North District emphasized the DCE has done nothing to enhance development, blaming him for the party’s misfortunes during the 2020 general elections.

They have since cautioned the party to risk losing more votes come 2024 should their plea fall on death ears.

Chairman of Concerned NPP Youth in Asutifi North district Alhaji Adams Adusahin an interview with Ark News indicated that their concerns have been channelled to the necessary authorities awaiting results.

But reacting to this, the accused DCE Anthony Adjei Mensah said he is surprised at the action of the said youth but blamed the development on some personalities in the party aspiring to become DCEs.

According to him, such people have been influencing the youth to disgrace his personality but warning that the decision is not only denting his image but the NPP party at large.

Mr Anthony Mensah, however, called on the party leadership in the area to as a matter of urgency intervenes in the matter before it escalates to affect the image of the party in the next general election.
