Residents of Adeiso in collaboration with the Police has arrested three suspected land guards who shot two persons on a plot of land at Adeiso, in the Upper West Akyim District of the Eastern Region, Ghana.

Three out of the six suspects were arrested by the help of Adeiso District Police Command in a team-up with residents, while the other three land guards bolted with an amount of GH¢900,000.

According to an eye witness, who spoke to Soireenews Correspondent, William Ofori on anonymity,  Samuel Atsu Forson, the owner of the concession of the plot was attacked and robbed by these suspected land guards, who stormed his site on Tuesday afternoon, June 15, 2021, harassed various land winning sites in the District and started intimidating and extorting monies from the land owners.

The witness emphasized, that on reaching the concession of Mr Samuel Atsu Forson,  they forcefully seized an amount of GH¢900,000 from his accountant on-site, and when two of his workers questioned their reason for taken possession of the said amount, the suspected land guards shot them in the legs and immediately tried to bolt on their motorbike.

The report revealed that, the suspect at this point  could not overpowered the aggrieved residents and the police of Adeiso, adding that the Commander Baffour Awuah is unable to prosecute this case because of interference by the Eastern Regional Minister.
 
"Sources says, Mr Atsu Forson, who was robbed by these suspected land guards is accusing the Eastern Regional Minister, Honourable Seth Acheampong, for ordering for the release of the three land guards who were arrested.

The police commander and the Regional Minister are yet to comment on the issue since they were unable to pick up their calls at the time of filing this report.
