Van Dijk Honor Invitation to Meet King and Queen of Netherlands

Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk have honored a lunch invitation with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of Netherlands.
On his twitter handle, the Liverpool defender wrote, “It was an honour to be invited to Palace Noordeinde by our King and Queen this week for lunch. A truly special day! Thank you for having me and it was a privilege to be surrounded by so many distinguished guests!”
Van Dijk was adjudged the best European player in September by UEFA after helping Liverpool win their sixth Champions League trophy. He was the FIFA Best Defender and is competing with Messi and Ronaldo for this year’s Ballon D’or.
The Dutch captain has been tremendous for his country as they top Group C with 15 points in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
