The Member of Parliament(MP) for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa constituency, Honourable Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah, has charged teachers in his constituency to voice out their problems without fear.

He said the system is too complex for teachers to express their opinion but they should gather momentum to let the cat out of the bag. In his assertion, he will support them when the need arises.

"I will work closely with the District Education Directorate to institute an annual Teacher's Awards Scheme by the close of the year 2021," he said.

"This scheme will reward all enterprising teachers in the district and I know Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Members will be immensely rewarded for their untiring and continuous sacrifices they make to mould the lives of the younger ones."

Honourable Alhaji Kobina Ghansah disclosed that "whoever is able to write must thank a teacher. Teachers really deserve appreciation and it is in the right direction that I am instituting this Teachers Awards Scheme on behalf of my constituents, especially the pupils and students to thank all teachers for imparting knowledge to them."

Honourable  Alhaji Kobina Ghansah added that his office is equally working closely with the District Health Directorate to commence the establishment of a Wellness Clinic in the District.

The MPs wellness clinic is targeted at reducing deaths from non-Communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes among others. Under this arrangement, teachers in the district will be offered the opportunity to have their blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and other basic tests for them in their schools or office.

He made this known at GNAT 6th Quadrennial (53rd) District delegate Conference at Asikuma Odoben Brakwa district.

At the delegate conference, the GNAT elected their executive members which Asikuma Odoben Brakwa NPP constituency first vice-chairman, Joseph Asante Baidoo was chosen as the GNAT District chairman.
