The West African Examination Council (WASSSCE) have suspended this year’s West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) until further notice.

The decision is because of the COVID-19 outbreak, which has taken the world by storm and posing threats to millions of lives.

In a press release dated on March 20, 2020 signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Agnes Teye Cudjoe, “the negative impact of th novel and deadly COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent protocols put in place by government of member countries to prevent the spread of the disease have serious implications for the conduct of WASSCE for school candidates, 2020 as agreed by the National Offices.”
