The Deputy Regional Police Commander for Ahafo Region, ACP Andrews Boadu-Ekumah, has said the region is set to prosecute offenders of Covid-19 safety protocols.

Speaking to soireenews regional correspondent Sulley Dramani in Goaso, Mr Boadu-Ekumah said the Inspector General of Police through the regional Police Commander DCOP Dr Ernest Kwabena Owusu saw the need that "if we are not strong we would not be able to enforce the safety protocols and protect lives and property, hence the exercise."

He said through the effort of the police, the people of Ahafo region are adhering to the various safety protocols and anyone who proves recalcitrant would be dealth by the law.

ACP Boadu-Ekumah said none of the personnel in the region have tested positive to Covid-19 and there are measures in place to ensure that those in police cells are protected while those arrested and detained are been checked.

He told there are speedy trial of cases and those whose offences are available would receive prompt bails.
