Samini has asked when the coronavirus vaccines will get to the Upper West region where he is currently based.

According to the veteran, he and his local people need to get vaccinated too.

He took to his social media account to ask when and where the vaccines would be reachable so they can all get vaccinated as quickly as possible.

“I’m in the upper Upper West region of Ghana ... #wa. I need to get vaccinated and my local people here do too .. my question to whom it may concern is, are we getting vaccines sent to the rural areas and if yes where can one go in Wa to get vaccinated pls?" He wrote.

Ghana received 600,000 AstraZeneca shots on Wednesday, 24th of February, 2021 and in doing so became the first country to receive the delivery of Covax coronavirus vaccines.

The arrival in Accra is the first batch shipped and delivered in Africa by the COVAX Facility as part of an unprecedented effort to make 2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines available for delivery by the end of 2021.

The doses touched down in the capital, Accra, come from the Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer.

Boxes of vaccines left Mumbai for Dubai, where a logistics crew picked up hundreds of thousands of syringes, before heading toward Africa’s west coast.

The Ministry of Health through the Ghana Health Service, GHS, said the most impacted regions for initial deployment of the over 600,000 doses. Inoculations are ongoing in Greater Accra Ashanti and Central regions.

The Upper West region has so far recorded 444 cases out of Ghana’s over 86,400 caseloads. Only the Oti, North East, and Oti regions have lesser cases – 308, 156, and 97 cases respectively.
