Yul Edochie says spending money lavishly on burials is unnecessary as it is a waste of resources.

Yul Edochie added that a person should be celebrated while he is still alive and not after death.

Narrating how someone had asked him for a loan to organise burial ceremony for his father, he said it is a total waste to him.

Edochie in a tweet said: “I don’t understand the concept of spending so much money on burials. Total waste to me!”

“A person’s life should be celebrated when he or she is alive to join in the celebration, not in death”

“Some1 once asked me for a loan of some millions to use & bury his father. I was speechless,” he tweeted.

The actor became a born-again Christian after surviving a life-threatening accident earlier this year.

He took to his social media handle on Twitter to write how the accident shook him.

He also called on his followers hand their lives to Jesus Christ whom He said, gave him a second chance.

“Someone said to me ‘that accident really shook you,” he wrote.  “Well, that’s an understatement.

“Actually it reset my brain to factory setting. God gave me a second chance. I’m a new man in Christ now, I’m born again. Don’t wait till it happens to you, follow Christ today!”
