2 died 1 injured in a motor crush on Wenchi - Techiman highway

Two persons  were killed in a motor crush Monday evening on Wenchi - Techiman highway.  

Narrating  facts of the accident to Radio West Africa a family member of one of the deceased said the accident occurred between Alfaruq College of Education and Droboso.

Isaac Ameyaw who  narrated the story further explained that Isaac Kwame Baffo now deceased is 41 years of age was a family member of the Nkwaduano Royal Family here in Wenchi.

According  to him his brother Isaac Kwame Baffo who was carrying another person on the back of his motor bike from Wenchi to Droboso crush with another motorbike which was also from Koase to Wenchi. 

                               
According to him his brother Isaac Kwame Baffo and the other rider lost their lives in the crush.

 He again explained that the other person who was sitting on the back of Kwame Baffos' motor bike was taken to the Wenchi Methodist hospital with a critical injuries. 

                                   Bodies of the deceases are deposited  at Wenchi Methodist hospital mortuary he said.

Isaac Kwame  Baffo left behind three children with no wife Isaac Ameyaw explained. 

Isaac Ameyaw  attributed the cause of the accident to potholes on that stretch of the road.               

Chief Inspector George Takyi station officer in charge of the Wenchi Divisional Motor transport and traffic department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police service confirmed the accident that claimed two souls to Wenchi based Radio West the Bono Regional town of Wenchi.   

He disclosed that the     other deceased is one Benjamin Yeboah age 26 .

He added that they were all riding unregistered apsonic motor bikes.

The Chief Inspector further explained that Benjamin Yeboah was using an apsonic motor bike with Burkina Faso registration number BF - 1226 - 5 K

They were rushed to the hospital before police got to the scene he narrated.

Upon police investigations it was revealed that Kwame Baffo now deceased was carrying one Charles Manu on the back of his motor bike who is now battling for his life.

Furthermore he said Charles Manu had fracture on his leg.

He added to it that that stretch of road killed 10 persons within two years from 2020 to this year 2022 due to the deplorable nature of the road linking Wenchi to Droboso.

Commenting on this the former constituency Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and constituency chairman aspirant in the just ended NPP constituency executives elections in Wenchi, Richard Adu Kwadwo said his personal research on that stretch of road revealed that 15 persons were killed within the period of two years from 2020 to 2022.

He thus called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo and NPP government to come to the aid of the people of Wenchi by giving them a proper roads to save lives and properties.

Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia hometown Wenchi have been neglected from the year of roads that has been promised by His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo Richard Adu Kwadwo reiterated.
