Aboabo, a farming and trading community is cut off due to continuous torrential rainfall since Monday, September 13, 2021, as Residents and School children are stranded over the collapse of a bridge that links Aboabo and  Amanase in Ayensuano District in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The collapse of the bridge has caused the river to flood on the road making it extremely difficult for residents particularly women and school children to cross.

The situation continues to worsen as Eastern Region has been experiencing torrential rainfall every day since Monday.

Personnel of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the District were in the community on Wednesday to assist residents in crossing to access markets and schools in the Amanase community.

However, if the collapsed bridge is not fixed and the rainfall continues for even another day, the residents would need to be evacuated for safety.
