Allan, Bawumia for 2024 flagbearership Race- Bono NPP            

Bono Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Asare Bediako Seth has said the next flagbearership race in the party will be a ‘‘clash of Titans’’ between Dr. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia and Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng.

Speaking on Ark FMs socio-political show monitored by Soiree News Bono Regional Correspondent Nana Ama Asiedu, Asare Bediako Seth admitted that even though the statement is not official, everyone in the party is aware.

The question regarding who will lead the New Patriotic Party for the next election is not ending anytime soon.

Even though, the leadership of the party has issued a stern warning to their members to exempt themselves from such subject since it has the tendency of causing division.

But speaking on the radio, the Bono Regional Communications Director said the though none of the two personalities mentioned has officially come out to make known intention regarding the flagbearership race, it’s clear they will compete.

Meanwhile, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will not permit the testing of waters now by party bigwigs who have ambitions of leading the party as flagbearers in the 2024 Presidential election.

Internal jolting in the quest to seek a replacement for Akufo-Addo whose tenure as President expires in the next four years has started quite early within the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Supporters of Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng, a former Minister of Trade and Industry who lost to Akufo-Addo for the flagbearership slot in 2007 and 2014, and that of the current Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have started an open campaign on social media over who leads the party in the 2024 elections.

But speaking to the issue, the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu stressed that such internal jostling way ahead of time has the potential of adversely affecting the performance of government and will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, Sunyani East Youth Organizer for the NDC, Vincent Antwi Adjei has said former President John Mahama is the most marketed person in the party so far as the flagbearership race is a concern.
