THE SCORES of residents, comprising motorists, traders, students, commuters, and traditional and religious leaders living in the communities within the Ga Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region are mounting pressure on the Member of Parliament (MP) for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi to step down to enable the constituents choose a candidate who will transform the lives of the people in the area.

The constituents who are complaining about the poor performance of the MP are living in Sowutuom, Lomnava, Antie Aku, A-Lang, Santa-Maria, Anyaa, and Kwashiebu enclave among others.
Their demand follows the investigations conducted by Soireenews.com which have revealed that the parliamentarian risks losing his parliamentary seat due to his poor performance.

They pointed out that "if we are looking at the role of our MP, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi regarding his performance, it is shown that our MP is completely failing us of redeeming his campaign promises for lobbying to bring social and infrastructure developmental projects to the constituency."

They reaffirmed that "their MP has failed us in lobbying to improve poor road networks, poor environmental sanitation and hygiene, fight against the high rate of youth unemployment and poor social welfare.
According to the constituents interviewed by this news outlet, they were disappointed in Dr Kissi for his abysmal performance so far since he represents them in Parliament and stated that this "literally means that electorates in Anyaa Sowutuon do not want to see his face on the ballot paper come 2024."
The constituents, therefore, suggested that he [Dr. Kisi ] "steps down as MP to enable us to choose a new MP who will work hard to change the fate of electorates."
They complained bitterly that their MP's performance is abysmal and they can't wait to change him come 2024, therefore, it will be very honorable for Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi to step down for someone to take over for the next one and half years so we can see some developments in our constituency."
The residents living in are living in Sowutuom, Lomnava, Antie Aku, A-Lang, Santa-Maria, Anyaa, and Kwashiebu complained that the deplorable nature of the roads in the said areas is making living conditions more difficult for them.

They noted that residents have drawn the attention of their Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive to the poor state of their roads but nothing had been done to improve the alarming situation.
“We have written countless letters to the assembly and held several meetings with the authorities but we are not getting results and that is why we are appealing to the central government,” they stressed.
They said business and commercial activities along the affected areas are paralyzed because of the inaccessible roads.
A motorist, Mr. Gordon Annor, said he frequently visits mechanics to fix his vehicle damaged by the bad condition of the road network. He wanted the concerned authority to urgently come to their rescue.
Besides Annor, another concerned resident, Madam Bernice Anankwa, said pregnant and nursing mothers who use the road to the Deserter hospital in the community which boasts of top-class medical doctors, nurses, and other health workers are however confronted with sicknesses as result of the dusty nature of the road.
According to her several lives have been lost, whilst others have had miscarriages due to the several potholes and the poor road network.
“Due to the bad nature of the road, which is dusty and full of potholes of scary sizes, it is impossible to rush critically ill patients to the only community hospital for treatment on time. Some women have miscarriage which was prevented but alas the poor road network affected their pregnancies,” Madam Bernice Anankwa lamented.
Madam Aku Seshie said that the deplorable state of their road network coupled with the poor drainage system makes the area unmotorable.
She explained that due to the poor state of the road, commercial vehicles barely visit the community often; leaving residents to travel mainly on foot.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Ga Central Assembly, Mr. Mohammed Bashiru Kamara, declined to respond to several calls put across to his phone line after promising to speak.
