The Susanna Wesley Mission Auxiliary (SUWMA) of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Koforidua Diocese, Akuapem Mampong Circuit has inaugurated the Calvary Society branch over the weekend at Tutu Calvary Methodist Church in Akuapem North Municipality.

Speaking at the inauguration of Tutu SUMA, under the theme; The Radiance of God’s Glory, Hebrews 1:3, Reverend Dr Ernest Nyarko opined that, to say Jesus is “the radiance of God’s glory” means Jesus makes God’s character and nature visible (apparent) to humanity. Adding that in other words, When you see Jesus, you have seen God.

Rev. Nyarko reiterated, that Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and to experience this glory, "we need to make Christ our focus and avail ourselves for the light of the gospel to shine through us to other people of the world, in order to dispel any darkness of sin."

The Circuit Minister emphasized, that Christ must take precedence in our lives.

Launching deep into the theme, he eulogized, that the Christian walk is not without challenges, but when we allow Jesus to take over our lives, we will rise above whatever challenges that we encounter in life.

The Rev Dr. said the Christian life is one of obedience to God’s Word, stressing that the submission of the Christian to God determines their destiny beyond the grave.

"We need to accept the light that Jesus brought to this world and strive to have a glorious relationship with Him.

"However, this life requires a change in behaviour, as well as attitudes, to what Christ would expect of His followers."

Finally, he charged the members to demonstrate Paul's advice in Galatians 2:20, "every aspect of our lives must be governed by faith in the one who loved us, gave himself for us and called us to partner him in reconciling the whole world back to himself".

Rev Dr Nyarko urged the newly inaugurated organization not to forget their affirmation made before God at the presence of the congregation, adding that "we shall mark your daily activities with your call mandates as an association of female members in the Methodist Church, Ghana, who are committed to cleaning and decorating the church, organising retreats to study the word of God, ministering the gospel to prisoners and participating in all church activities."

Elected officers were also inducted into the office to steer the affairs of SUMA for a three-year mandate.
