Residents in Ekwamoasi in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region are faced with the ordeal of poor water supply. A situation which have persisted for the past five months resulting in the surfacing of various skin diseases in the community.

Some residents complain that they sometimes have to use sachet water for bathing and other domestic chores. The situation which keeps worsening also drives some to share stagnated waters with animals.

Five boreholes which served the community has also broken down for some months now and the cost of repairs is what has led to its closure. A CHPS compound serving the community and its surroundings have also been affected, stalling their operation.

The Assembly Member for the Ekwamoasi Electoral Area Isaac Beisi Acquah also appealed to the government to help support the renovation of the boreholes. The Chies and people of the community also called on the member of parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency, Ato Forson to come to their aid.

In addition to the water problems, the people appealed to member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency to come and support Kososan Basic School as they are having inadequate desks in their school. School Children, sit on blocks and sometimes bare floor to learn.

In an interview with the District Chief Executive for Ajumako Enyan Essiam District via phone, he promised to address the challenges facing the community.
