The Chief Defence Staff will preside over a security meeting with serving and retired senior military officers in the South-East geopolitical zone.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor, will be in Imo State on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

The 34 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Obinze, Owerri, says all is set for the visit.

Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lt. Babatunde Zubairu, said this in a statement on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, according to Daily Post.

The CDS will preside over a security meeting with serving and retired senior military officers in the South-East geopolitical zone.

The parley was convened to proffer lasting solutions to the prevailing security threats in the region.

“The security meeting will be attended by top senior military officers from Defence Headquarters, Abuja”, Zubairu added

There have been several attacks on security personnel and facilities in the South-East resulting in deaths and destruction.
