The Adukrom District Police Command on Saturday, August 15, 2021, commenced investigation into the robbery attack on a fuel filling station at Asenema, near Adukrom in the Okere District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.

A three-member robbery gang on Saturday about 7:00 pm invaded Frimps Fuel Filling station amidst sporadic gunshots. They attacked the security man at a post and a female fuel attendant on duty and took away about Ghc1,200 and mobile phones from them.

The robbers allegedly dressed like Fulani herdsmen also attacked and robbed passengers in a commercial vehicle that coincidentally drove to the filling station to buy fuel.

Conflicting reports by some eyewitnesses about the shot of a gun on the security man have proved to be false, even though he was on admission but not dead as was speculated by many residents.

Our subsequent independent checks revealed, that the security man was violently attacked, with a stick by the armed robbers which crippled him hence fell motionless and helplessly on the floor.

Information gathered by Soiree News established, that the Adukrom Police arrived at the robbery scene an hour after the robbers had fled due to a lack of service driver.

The only service driver stationed at Adukrom District Police command has been transferred for some time now without replacement making it difficult for the command to embark on night patrols and respond to emergency cases since their drivers are purposely trained and equipped with unique skills for such situations.

Meanwhile, the Frimps fuel filling station has been temporarily shut down since the robbery attack over the weekend.
