Sarkodie has bragged that he is the first artiste to successfully kick-off a fan base in Ghana.

The African rap god made this claim in an interview with Kobby Kyei on Stars Talk Show.

According to Sarkodie, he created a fan base locally and internationally when most artistes were just doing music without any following.

Per his words, all other fan bases in Ghanaian followed the blueprint that he laid down.

He then referred that anyone who doubts his claim to check on Twitter, to confirm the date and time his first-ever fanbase (Team Sarkodie) was created internationally.

"We started, we started the following but people don't know that. The thing is sometimes we need to set the record straight. You go and see...If you are doing your checks, if you want to argue go to Twitter to check the date Team Sarkodie was created," he said.

Sarkodie, however, admitted that he got the inspiration from Nigeria's Wizkid.

He pointed out that it was Wizkid who drew his attention to create a fanbase which can increase listeners and lovers of his music.
