Adina Thembi has urged women to seek medical care early if they suspect a case of fibroids.

According to the artiste, they would know if they feel a bulge in their skin that keeps growing instead of going down.

She used her personal experience to warn her female fans of the disadvantages of not treating the illness early enough.

Revealing her plans, she, therefore, announced that she will be launching a campaign to spread awareness about the slow-killing illness.

This comes after the resplendent artiste bagged ten nominations at the upcoming VGMA 2021.

“When I noticed the bulge, it thought I was overweight from bad eating habits. So I ate right, worked out, but the bulge kept growing. When I went to the hospital, it was huge and needed operation promptly."

"If you suspect you have fibroids, the most important thing to do is to go to a trusted health space and get a scan. Also, get different opinions and decide on the best possible course of action. Do not listen to all the weird stories. Don’t lose alive because you were too scared to save it.” She admonished.

The songstress noted that the campaign would create a safe space for women to heal and deal with the trauma of having uterine fibroids.

Her comments came after she began an internal campaign upon surviving her surgery in February, she asked other females on social media to share their experiences with her.

The Beautiful Inside Campaign will now raise awareness about uterine fibroids, it would also help women through the journey of treatment and recovery by providing facilities for women to get tested and scanned, counsel and help those with extreme cases get surgery.

To this end, she stated that she hopes to hold a musical concert with the fashion show in July (the month of fibroid awareness) with other female performers to raise funds for the cause.
