The Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Alexander Obour Damoah has disclosed that the internally generated fund (IGF) of the Assembly in the Bono Region has witnessed sharp improvement.

A total of seven hundred and twenty-three thousand, four hundred and twenty-eight Ghana cedis twenty-four pesewas (723,428.24) has been raked in as of 30th June 2022 under the internally generated fund component of the assembly's revenue he said. This figure represents 69 percent of the budgeted revenue of one million and thirty-nine thousand, three hundred and forty Ghana cedis, thirty pesewas (1,039,340.30).

Honorable Alexander Obour Damoah disclosed this in his address delivered during the first meeting of the third session of the eight Wenchi Municipal Assembly held over the weekend.

Comparatively, this year's performance shows a 31% improvement from last year's performance of 38% as of the same period the MCE noted.

According to him,m the performance improvement can be attributed to the following factors.

The hardworking and active revenue task force was put in place by the new management under the leadership of Mr. Bashir u Abdul Rahman (Assistant Director IIB). , operationalization of the zonal councils with an active performance by the leadership and some members of the Wenchi and Asuogya zonal councils, active involvement of management in the taskforce established purposely for the 2021 cashew harvest season, under the leadership of Honorable James Kwasi Odor Asare, Honorable Acheampong Badu, and Chief Inspector Adjei Kersi of the Ghana Police Service and the activation of key strategic barriers at Ahyiayem, Nkonsia, Slaughterhouse/Offuman road, Akrobi and active participation of some Assembly Members in their respective electoral areas.
