Doctor Nimonorka Laar Caleb, a Physician Assistant at the Peace Specialty Hospital has strongly urged Ghanaians on the need to always visit a hospital for check-ups.

According to him, it's very worrying how some people wait till situations get escalated before they see a doctor.

He said waiting to be on the verge of death before going for a check-up is usually the cause of many deaths in the country.

"When we advise people to regularly visit their doctors, we don't mean to extort monies but it's always for their safety first. People should therefore discard the monetary mentality and think health first," the doctor said.

Doctor Laar said this during a free screening exercise organised for widows, others at Kumasi Yennyawso, under the auspices of the Kumasi Mayor, Honourable Osei Assibey Antwi.

Doctor Laar who was satisfied with the attendance commended widows and other men who graced the program for their massive turnout.

He however urged all Ghanaians to be very warily of the covid-19 jokes. The doctor who believes in the existence and danger of the covid-19 seriously urged everyone to adhere to all protocols.

The program which welcomed all walks of women, men and children sought to examine the health standards and breast Cancer status of attendees.

Mad Philomena Antwiwaa, National President of the Akunafuo Mmoa Foundation commended the mayor for touching the hearts of widows and other vulnerable.

She however took the opportunity to advise widows who carelessly leave their wards to go astray in life to be very careful.

"Even though it's being difficult taking care of your ward as a single parent, but I entreat my fellow widows to always watch the ways of their wards especially when it comes to morality."

Lastly, beneficiary attendees who spoke to Soireenews commended the Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi for organising and taking cost of such a wonderful exercise that would have cost them a lot.
