My bid for MCE post not selfishness - former MP
Honourable Henry Yiadom Boakye

Former MP for Techiman South, Honourable Henry Yiadom Boakye has stated that his decision to seek the Municipal Chief Executive position in Techiman South is not borne out of selfishness but rather a call to duty that can help the New Patriotic Party party fortunes in the municipality going forward.

This was after prospective people were asked to forward their application letters with CVs to the regional Minister for vetting and next line of action.

Ten people were confirmed to have submitted their forms on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, to meet the deadline and notably amongst them were former MP for Techiman South Hon. Henry Yiadom Boakye and the current MCE John Kofi Donyina.

Speaking to Agyawusu on Link Agoo AM Show this morning, Yiadom Boakye has dispelled impressions that he is selfish in his bid for the post just after handing over as MP.

According to him, he should rather be commended for humbly bowing out to pave way for his younger brother (current MP Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah) who showed interest at that time.

"I could have run for primaries if I was selfish and that could have caused the party some great misfortunes", he added.

Mr Yiadom Boakye among other things justifies his decision to seek the Municipal Chief Executive post.
