The chief of Ngleshie Lafa-Barima Nmarko in the Weija Divisional Area of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ayi Okufuobuor I, has advised the general public, particularly the citizens of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area in James Town to disregard a press conference held by a group from Ngleshie Alata.
According to him, it is only the head of a family that installs a chief as tradition demands and presents him to the chiefs in the traditional area as such any person or group of people who do not know this basic fact are doing this with evil intentions

Nii Ayi Okufuobuor I, was in an interview with some journalists at Weija after a group of people from Ngleshie Alata describing themselves as Stool Council held a press conference to contest his position as the Chief of Lafa Barima.
According to him, there was no merit in the statement being his critics including the Aloe Bosso who is parading himself as the chief of Bortianor and has used that capacity to join forces to attack his integrity.
Nii Ayi Okufuobuor I maintained that "We have Paramount stool father called Nii Opey VI who can install and destool chiefs and those self-seeking individuals who are in the town fomenting unnecessary trouble.
"But l assure the general public that we will not give them the chance to destroy our vision and plans that we have for the area," he vowed.
He noted that the people who are recognized in that house is the stool priest who is mandated by the customs and traditions of the area to pour libations for the citizens of the Ngleshie Lafa-Barima Nmarko of Weija.
He indicated that all other individuals or people in that house who are attacking his integrity do not belong to that house and that they can't choose who is chief or who is the chief of Ngleshie Lafa-Barima Nmarko.
He disclosed that those who are attacking or questioning his Chieftaincy Status including one Aloe Bosso is not even come from the Lafa Barima area, saying that Mr. Bosso who is parading himself as the chief of Bortianor tried many dubious means and ways to secure a gazette to back his Chieftaincy Status claim but "nobody minds him."
He indicated that the purported Stool Secretary that Aloe Bosso was supporting to attach him does not have the traditional capacity to hold any such press conference in the area, and queried "who is the so-called stool secretary and Aloe Bosso to challenge his chieftaincy status in the area?.
He stressed that the head of his family, Mr. Ibrahim Ayi Armah Quaye installed him as the chief of the Lafa Barima and nobody can challenge his installation since it was genuinely, lawfully, legally, and traditionally done devoid of any resistance from those matters.
He was of the view that per Chieftaincy law in this country the chief didn't have the traditional capacity to install a chief and that it is the principal kingmaker in the effective consultation of the head of the family who is mandated to perform that traditional rite.
He reiterated that his family head, Mr... .I.Brahim Ayi Armah Quaye installed and outdoor him as the chief of the area under the stool name, Nii Ayi Okufuobuor I.
He maintained that they don't have any Chieftaincy institution in Lafa Barima called Stool Council, saying that which law has constituted the purported stool council those self-seeking individuals are using that they fall under its umbrella to question his chieftaincy status.
Nii Ayi Okufuobuor I said the chieftaincy institutional bodies which have the power over the chiefs or traditional officeholders are Traditional Council, Greater Regional House of Chiefs, and National House of Chiefs, saying that aside from these chief bodies they don't have anything called Stool Council within the Chieftaincy law of the Republic of Ghana.
He pointed out that his name is in the fold of the register of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council as the recognized installed Chief
the area and that the records are there for those who need to verify.
He stressed that the Ngleshie Alata Chief cannot install a chief in Lafa Barima
and neither he cannot destool chief from the throne of the area.
This according to him, is because Ngleshie Alata Chief is not the one who performed traditional and customary rites to install the chief and that the chief is being installed by the kingmakers and heads of the family.
"Those who are fighting against me as the chief of the area claimed to be the stool secretary of the area who in fact by the customs and traditions they don't have the the the capacity to hold such a traditional position in the area," the chief stressed.
He asserted that the person who claimed to be the stool secretary of the area didn't even have family near the stool and that what he knows was that his grandfathers used to hire the father of the self-styled stool secretary to beat African "Dondo" talking drum anytime his grandfathers are performing certain rituals for the stool.
"The so-called stool secretary in his statement claimed that he is from the Ashley Brofour Royal family house and that he is the one who said that l come from Atoma family. I want to ask whether or not he knows the history of Atoma.
"I want to tell him that Atoma is the place Lara-Barima Nmarko the original place where my grandfathers came from Anlo war to stay which is the center of Nmarko, saying that Nmarko is the strong house where they came from to sit on the big stool," he set the record straight.
