THOUSANDS of residents across the political spectrum in the various electoral areas within Lower West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region have subtly thrown their support behind the parliamentary candidate hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the area, Mr Owen Kwame Frimpong who is popularly known as Darling Boy.

 
These residents are grassroot personalities who comprised delegates, members and supporters of the NDC including the chiefs, queen mothers, youths, students, market folks, farmers and traders, hawkers, business magnates, masons and persons from all segments of society in the Lower West Akim Constituency who had declared their strong support for Mr Frimpong ahead of the NDC parliamentary primaries scheduled to take off on Friday August 25, 2023.
The residents stated that their message was that Lower West Akim Constituency urgently requires a leader who embodies pragmatism, patriotism, honesty, discipline, submissive, self respect and selfless leadership traits.
Mr Frimpong who is NUMBER ONE on the ballot paper has consistently championed the cause of discipline, urging residents in the constituency to cast aside indiscipline in favor of genuine patriotism and unwavering honesty.
The residents outdoored a mantra "No Darling Boy, No Vote 2024."
"We have realized that there is nothing going on in Lower West Akim,  so we decided not to vote again but as we realized that Mr Kwame Frimpong's bid for the parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NDC, we have changed me mind to support him because he coming to help us to bring the needed development to the area when he win the tomorrow NDC's parliamentary primary and lead the party to snatch the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections," the residents stated.
A 48-year-old Ghanaian business tycoon has been chosen by the majority of the delegates and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries for the Lower West and subsequently wrestle the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.
 
Mr. Owen Kwame Frimpong, who is delusional citizen of Lower West Akim, is popular among the NDC Youth Wing in the Constituency and many of the youth cannot wait to see him become MP for the area.
 
Although the Lower West Akim Constituency Parliament seat has been occupied by the NPP with its current MP is Honorable Charles Acheampong ,the majority of delegates including top members and supporters of the NDC in the constituency have tipped Darling Boy to win the NDC primaries and battle with the NPP to wrestle the seat for the party.
 
“The delegates, members and supporters of the NDC in the area pointed out that the NDC cannot win the 2024 parliamentary elections with any other person than the workaholics Owen Kwame Frimpong who has what it takes to wrestle seat from the NPP.
 
 
What the good members, supporters and sympathisers of the NDC in Lower West Akim Constituency need right now is a delusional son with the heart of David, and that son is no other person than Owen Kwame Frimpong. He has stayed in a good standing for the NDC for the past ten years. Thank you,” said some of the members of the NDC in the area who spoke on the condition of anonymity in an interview with Soireenews.com.
 
The Lower West Akim Constituency seat is one of the seats that has been occupied by the ruling NPP since the commencement of the fourth republican constitution in 1992.
 
Interestingly, the NPP has occupied the seat for almost 20 years, their main contender, the NDC, on the other hand, had not held onto the seat for the past 20 years now. Therefore, the constituency could be described now as a World Bank constituency for the NPP.
 
However, per the electoral records in the Lower West Akim constituency for major the two political parties, NPP and NDC, it clearly shows that if the NDC goes to the 2024 general election with Owen Kwame Frimpong, the party would surely win the seat from the NPP.
 
The current phenomenon which the members and supporters of the NDC have saw, hence their decision to endorse the parliamentary candidature of Owen Kwame Frimpong to win the NDC primaries and move forward to win the seat for the party.
 
It has emerged from the empirical evidence on the ground that the political wining grounds are not good for incumbent NPP MP, again for the upcoming election, who according to some electorate was very unpopular across the constituency.
 
In this regard, the onus now lies on the NDC to elect a parliamentary candidate like the young Kwame Frimpong who would be able to match the NPP’s candidate to retain the seat for the NDC.
 
Speaking in an interview with Sorireenews. com, Mr. Kwame Frimpong he decided to enter into the race because he has the people in the constituency at heart.
 
"I want to tell the members and supporters of the NDC to vote for me to win the incoming NDC parliamentary primaries in order to win the seat for them. I am not in the race for my own personal interest or to win and amass wealth for myself. 
 
"...but l am in the race to win and do my contributions to the constituents. I would be the crusader for whatever shares of the national cake and give out the shares of the national cake to the residents," Mr Kwame Frimpong reaffirmed.
 
Mr Frimpong listed his achievements as a developmental oriented citizen of the area who is very instrumental in  bringing the needed social and infrastructure developmental projects and programmes to the door steps of the people in the area.
According to the young astute politician, he  believes that, it is a high time for him to showcase his achievements to the public to see visibly of what he has so done to develop the Lower West Akim although he has not been elected as the NDC parliamentary candidate as well as the MP to represent the constituents in parliament.
Mr Frimpong believes he has achieved roaring success as a leading member of the NDC who is vying to the contest the election on the ticket of the NDC in Lower West Akim Constituency. 
To prove his claims, the potential NDC parliamentary candidate hopeful, therefore briefed journalists on the projects he has been undertaken in the various electoral areas in the constituency.
Some of the projects include roads, he stated are include CHIPS compounds, community playing fields, market centres, durbar grounds with pavements, blocks, storm drains, boreholes, footbridges, sanitation, hygiene and among others.
According to Mr. Kwame Frimpong, has been instrumental of carrying out some humanitarian supporting services to the NDC in area of cleaning various offices in the NDC headquarters at Adabraka in Accra free of charges.
 
Aside that, the young NDC firebrand mentioned that he managed to endear himself to his home communities in the constituency through his philanthropic work in the area of health, education, security, social welfare and water and sanitation.
 
He pointed out that having being the grassroot member of the NDC, he sees himself as the most competent person among the aspirants to lead the party in the constituency into the 2024 election.
 
The young businessman who is owner of Bridavis Shipping Company Limited, 
Bridavis Cleaning Services and Bridavis Car Rental Company noted that having toured various communities to carry some humanitarian supporting activities and services to youths and less underprivileged group of people, he realized that the constituency needed a person at the grassroots who understood the terrain of politics within the area to represent them in the parliamentary.
 
According to him, empirical evidence on the ground suggested the party needed to present a new candidate to enable the party to win the parliamentary seat from the NPP in the upcoming election.
 
Mr Kwame Frimpong who is very passionate about the education development of the youths in the area believes it was time for a youthful candidate who was ready to work to change the fortunes of the constituency to be elected to champion his vision on education, health, youth and women empowerment.
 
He acknowledged the lack of development in the constituency under the leadership of the NPP for the past 20 years which has been compounded by youth unemployment and high poverty.
 
Through his business experiences, Mr.Kwame Frimpong expressed the hope to partner a number of international organisations to help transform the area for the benefit of the people as well as put the youth into apprenticeship and offer them start-up capital to enable them to set up their businesses.
 
He mentioned that he would come up with innovative ideas and interventions that would have direct impact on the lives of the constituents.
 
He said he was in the race as a strong force who could unify the divided front of the party to win the parliamentary seat and consolidate the victory in future elections.
 
He stated that the party needed a candidate who was well connected in all the sectors of the economy saying he would contesting the election with the primary objective of helping to address the myriad of challenges confronting the constituency if elected MP for the constituency.
 
His message is to tackle the poor state of roads in the area by lobbying for immediate government intervention to enable motorists and particularly farmers to cart their goods to market centres.
 
The young business mogul bemoaned the lack development and high rate of youth unemployment in Lower West Akim and pledged to roll out human centered policies to address these press problems when he wins the NDC primaries and subsequently win the parliamentary election in the 2024 general elections.
