Oklahoma hospital shooting: Four people were murdered, and several others were injured.

Police say four people were killed in a shooting spree at a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The alleged shooter, who was armed with a rifle and a handgun, was also confirmed dead by officers.

In three minutes, police arrived at St Francis Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, ensuring that the death toll was not higher.

Officials said that multiple injuries had been confirmed.

"Right now, we have four people who are dead, and one shooter who is deceased," Deputy Police Chief Eric Dalgleish said at a press conference on Wednesday.

He said the shooter, who has not been identified, received fatal bullet wounds that he believes were self-inflicted.

"At the time, the suspect had one long rifle and one handgun on the scene," he said.

There was no information on a possible motive for the attack.

At 16:52 local (20:52 GMT), police received a call regarding an active shooter, according to Deputy Dalgleish, and were on the site in three minutes.

"The officers that did come heard bullets in the building, which led them to the second level," he explained.

Officers are currently interviewing witnesses all across the building, including those on the second story, where the attack occurred.

Captain Richard Meulenberg, according to ABC News, stated that when police arrived at the medical facility, they "discovered a couple of persons had been shot" and that some of them had already died.

He described the situation as "catastrophic."

White House sources also confirmed that US President Joe Biden has been briefed on the Tulsa massacre.

Following the murders of 19 children and two teachers at a Texas school last Saturday, President Biden asked Americans to make their voices heard to avoid more gun violence.
