Residents at Ho Bankoe-Dovene Junction unsettled by rains and choked gutters

The Amegashie bridge, Togbe Afede bridge, Dornorkordzi bridge, gutters, and other channels have been engulfed in filth, and the stench it leaves is nothing to write home about.

Residents who lived around at Ho Bankoe-Dovene Junction are calling on the government to rescue them by constructing a bridge to handle flooding challenges in the Ho municipality.

Speaking to Solomon Ahiable, residents lamented that, during the rainy season, students who ply the road suffer a lot and others who could not cross the bridge stay at home without going to school. This they describe as worrying and if care is not taken immediately, it will create a lot of havoc.

The flood that accompanies rains due to blocked water passages, typically chocked gutters will certainly give them problems.

On a visit around some parts of Ho Bankoe from Dovene Junction down leading Jerry Arts, some residents revealed that the Municipal Assembly has failed in her quest to work on the situation.

One, Mr Dodzi Amenyo a resident in the area said, they have written a lot of letters to the Ho Municipal Assembly and the Assemblyman Honourable Indikoko came to see the state of the area but have done nothing about it since.

According to him, the painful memories of the June 3 twin disaster should have been a wake-up call, but sadly, the story remains the same across the country.

Amegashie bridge, Togbe Afede bridge, Dornorkordzi bridge and gutters, and other channels have been engulfed in filth, and the stench it leaves is nothing to write home about.

Residents are therefore calling on the Ho municipality to as a matter of urgency work on their road.
