Sene West District Farmers Officially Launched Their Association.

In an interview, the chairman remarked that the unity of the farmers coming together with one mind will go a long way to promote agricultural activities in the district to boast the production capacity of the country.

The Farmers in the Sene West District of the Bono East Region have officially come together to form an association to seek the progress and welfare of the farmers.

The name of the association is Sene West District Farmers Association (SWEFA), according to the Chairman, Mr Boadum Martin said, the reason for bringing all the farmers and stakeholders together within the district is to accelerate the welfare of farmers, especially in the agriculture marketing sector.

In an interview, the chairman remarked that the unity of the farmers coming together with one mind will go a long way to promote agricultural activities in the district to boast the production capacity of the country.

The Association Chairman who also doubles as the Assembly Member for Krenkuase/Domeabra electoral area highlighted some of the challenges the farmers are facing in the district especially on low patronage of farm produce by buyers due to the poor road network in the area.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sene West District, Honourable John Nyarba in his address applauded the association members for their brains behind the creation of the association and pledged his support to the group because the government will see to it that the association will grow to attract other intervention in the agric sector.

Speaking to some of the association members stressed the importance of the group and indicated that, other challenges cannot be overemphasisedsed and pleaded on the government to help fix the bad roads faced by the people in the district.

Among some of the dignitaries who were present at the launch were Pastors, Chief Iman, Traditional leaders, Political Parties members, Assembly Members and others from the agric department.
