Tottenham Hotspurs are said to have contacted Angel Di Maria for his services in the summer.

The Argentine will be a free agent in June and is revealed to be a strong admirer of Jose Mourinho who successfully managed him two seasons at the Bernabeu.

'Mourinho made me a better player,' he told Diario Ole in 2013 copied from the DailyMail to Soiree Sports news.

'He showed me many things and made me grow as a footballer. He helped me to move into a different position, to sacrifice myself more for the team.

'I'm very grateful to him. He told me that, at Real, I was a forward that could also defend and that I couldn't rest when they were on the attack.

'As I was performing under him for the three years he was at Madrid he put me in the starting line-up. The Di Maria playing down the middle compared to the one now is a different player, both technically and tactically.'

The 32-year old has earlier rejected a contract extension from the Ligue 1 outfit, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side in talks with the representatives of the Argentine yet reports adds that the club's proposal to cut his wage demands of £220,000 per week did not please him, and Spurs are reported ready to offer the former Manchester United player a lucrative contract, L’Equipe reports.

Di Maria’s disappointing spell in 2014-15 season at Manchester United is still waiting to be broken after sealing £60million from Spain.

He joined PSG after one season and has won numerous accolades, being a part of the Ligue 1 champions squad that played in their first Champions League last season against Bayern Munich.
