Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman the Bono East regional capital as part of his institutional working visits yesterday met with Staff of the Municipal Ghana Police Service.

Honorable. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman the Bono East regional capital as part of his institutional working visits yesterday met with Staff of the Municipal Ghana Police Service.

The MCE in his opening remarks commended the officers for their effort to reduce cthe crime rate in the Municipality and assured them of the Assembly's support for them to continue their good works.

He appealed to them to display a high level of professionalism in their engagement with the public as a few bad nuts within the service are sinking their image.

He again appealed to the officers to be charitable to the drivers and farmers who transport foodstuffs from surrounding villages to Techiman especially officers who are stationed on Forikrom road.

He added that h has received complaints from Nananom and tricycle riders of the constant harassment of farmers by officers on that stretch.

He urged them to intensify their surveillance in the Municipality because of the Security Alert by the National Security on a possible terrorist attack in Ghana.

In an open forum, the District Crime Officer, ASP William Abayatey shared their concerns with the MCE which include: inadequate personnel, lack of furniture, call calling the painting, and fencing of the Municipal Police station,d Poor lighting system at their facility among others.

The Forikrom Station Officer Chief Inspector Derry Julius also asked the Assembly to provide them with street lights to improve the security situation at the Forikrom station.

Constable Darko commended the MCE for his show of love for Officers who are detailed to his residence.

In a related development; the Techiman Municipal Assembly Monday, 6th June, 222 took delivery of 2000 bags of subsidized fertilizer from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

Per the arrangement, a farmer in the Municipality can access this facility from BALIWUD AGRO CHEMICALS in Techiman be located opposite Market View Hotel at Wa station. 

A farmer only needs to provide a National ID and an active phone number.
