The Chief of Nzema Nkwanta of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, Nana Kwabena Duku, has proposed to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the government to come to their aid, in order to help provide their lavatory facility.
In an interview with Soireenews.com, Nana Kwabena Duku recited that the circumstances at which the over five community members share a latrine with vermin have become a dilemma for the entire community, especially for himself. However, calling on benevolent individuals to assist them to get a comfortable place for defecation.
Nana Kwabena Duku said that it has proven several attempts to reach the municipal assembly to support futile.
“It seems we are not part of Ghana. This Community has over five thousand population but we wistfully share one wooden outhouse laid with slabs with snakes. The most essential aspect is the young ones and a place to get for the other wooden structure when this becomes full. We are on our kneels calling for support from philanthropists and benevolent ones.”
According to the Chief, they have vehemently lost hope in the Member of Parliament, Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng and the Npp government because of coherent disappointment.
“We lost all hope in the MP. For the late MCE, we have nothing to say. We are really suffering.’’
The assembly member of the community, Emmanuel Boateng, added his voice to the call. He seized the opportunity to call on the NGOs for school block.
“One issue affecting our community is school block. It’s very devastating going to under tree in this modern world. We are calling all and sundry to hear our plea and come to aid,” he stated.
