Construction workers at the Pokuase Interchange have demonstrated against their bosses for what they believe to be unfair treatment in their line of work.

The protest of the workers on Thursday morning, October 22, 2020 led to the deployment of police officers to calm down the situation and ease traffic congestion started as a result.

According to them whiles speaking to Ghanaweb, they are unhappy at with the GH¢20 a day wages and GHC1 allowance for scaffolding, a decision they see as not tantamount to their nature of work and the monies received.

Addressing their grievances, the workers disclosed that their superiors do not hold them in high esteem on the basis that whenever they decide to take an hour break to either rest or find food to eat, the hours off is deducted from their wage, expressing that they tax from that same amount received daily therefore if government fails to intervene in their situation, actions would be taken to affect the activities.

They warned that a roadblock is in their plans if they are not given fair treatment by superiors, an action which would be extended for two months.
