Four persons have reportedly died in an accident at Nante near Jema in the Kintampo South District of the Bono East Region.

The vehicle was transporting passengers from Kumasi to the Northern Region. The four dead persons include three females, a male and a child.

Information gathered from the mate of the vehicle who escaped unhurt indicates that his master the driver upon reaching a part of the jour decided to take an energy drink which may mean he was stressed up and needed the extra energy to finish the road.

He said, whiles his master was taking the drink whiles steering, he lost focus and came across a speed ramp where he was unable to manage his speed anymore leading to the accident. He said, the car somersaulted three times and later landed on the ground and that was all he could recall.

According to a report by Nana Yaw Aboagye, the driver is in critical condition with some other passengers who were in the vehicle. They have been transported to the Kintampo Government Hospital for treatment.

He said some relatives have since been trooping in for identification and retrieval of their relatives.

Meanwhile, the police is yet to come out with an official communiqué on their findings of what caused the accident.
