Bona Region: 80% of the population registered on Health Insurance

The Bono regional directorate of the National Health Insurance Scheme has disclosed that, it has achieved the target of  80% subscribers. “This means that, for all ten persons you meet on the streets of Bono region, eight of them are registered on the NHIS and are card holders”, the directorate disclosed.

The Bono regional directorate of the National Health Insurance Scheme has disclosed that it has achieved the target of  80% subscribers.
“This means that, for all ten persons you meet on the streets of Bono region, eight of them are registered on the NHIS and are cardholders”, the directorate disclosed.


The Regional Director, Mr. Joseph Mensah disclosed the annual performance and review of the year 2021 held at the regional Hospital training center in Sunyani.


The directorate said World Health Organization (WHO) has set a target for each country achieving an eighty percent coverage by 2030 for the provision of health.


Mr. Mensah attributed the success to the hard work, selflessness, and unity of the workers as well as the media publicity offered them.
He observed that their target for the year 2022 is to achieve ninety percent coverage.


The NHIA boss is hopeful his outfit will achieve the target.
