Nursing Training Applicants have been cautioned against forged certificates as it can affect them even after their enrolment as students.

The Principal of the Presbyterian Midwifery College at Duayaw-Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region, Mrs Joyce Ohene was speaking at the just-ended 55th session of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

According to her, most applicants at the time of interview do not come with their certificates for the reason that West Africa Examination Council( WAEC) has not released them yet, but later when verified by the school, most of the certificates turn out to contradict the grades presented at the time of application.

This she believes is unacceptable and must be discouraged to ensure sanity in the education system.

She added that the school admits 60% of Presbyterians and 40% public but the issue of the protocol is hampering the process as most leaders present certificates of non-Presbyterians for admission.

The school has therefore decided to take membership card as evidence to that effect.

The Principal said the practice is preventing genuine church members from gaining admission into the institution.

The Principal said forms are out and interested persons can apply with a genuine certificate.

A requirement according to Mrs Ohene is A1 to C6.

Applicants must be people who in the second cycle offered General Science, General Arts, Home Economics, General Agric with Science and Economic subjects.

She told that Business students though are not qualified but can write some of the science and Arts subjects to enable them to apply.

Mrs Ohene commended the Presbytery for support during her induction service.
