THE VICE Chancellor of Dunkwa-On-Offin Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Dunka-on-Offin of Upper Denkyira East District in the Central Region, Dr Evans Sampson, has urged graduates of the school to remain in Ghana and contribute to its development.
"I would like to use opportunity to send a strong caution to the trained nurses in Ghana to stop leaving the country to seek greener pastures in others counties.
Dr Sampson issued this caution while addressing the gathering at the school’s 3rd Graduation Ceremony and Homecoming.
This colourful event was attended by Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East and Deputy  Minister Designate for Employment And Labour Relations, Honourable Fetus Awuah Kwofie, Minister of Transport,  Honourable Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Dr Daniel Acolor Board Member, Mr Nichodemus Aboagye,  Mr Richard Duodou, Board Chairman,Nana Natobankyi III (Denkyira Ankobeahene) and numbers of dignitaries.
A total  of thousand four- hundred and thirty two (1432) passed out in their campus.
Vice Chancellor appealed to the graduating nurses to serve their country because some of the State resources and tax payers monies were used to subsidized their education and therefore own duty to build better Ghana we wont.
“It will be unlawful for the government to spend on you as health practitioners and after graduation, you leave your country to another country therefore, love your country and don’t be in a hurry to abandon it to go and develop another country,” he further advised.
The principal underscored the importance of integrity in the healthcare profession, emphasizing the value of truthfulness and integrity.
He urged the students to be fair, avoid discrimination and treat everyone with respect and dignity.
For his part, the  Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East who double as Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Hon Featu Awuah Kwofie said,the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo knew the necessity to restore nurse training allowance in order to ease some financial burden from parents and to accommodate more students to enroll in Nurse Training Institutions.
He appealed to nurses who want to travel to seek greener pastures or continue their education in other  countries to use proper channel to avoid stranded in other countries.
Nana Natobankyi III who is the Denkyira Ankobeahene gave a words of advice in their life journey of life.
He stressed that there will be a lot of sabotage but they should be focused to serve the nation.
