Chirano Sefwiman Foundation Presents Scholarship to 30 Students
Chirano Gold Mines and the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation has awarded 30 students scholarship to further their education at the tertiary level

The Chirano Gold Mines and the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation in the Western North Region have presented educational scholarships to 30 students to further their education at the tertiary level.
The presentation forms part of the Chirano Gold Mines and the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation Cooperate Social Responsibility.
Speaking at the ceremony the General Manager of Chirano Gold Mines, Mr. Terence Watungwa stated that, his outfit recognizes education as an essential element in every community’s advancement therefore the scholarship aim at supporting, encouraging learners to acquire high educational standards.
He said it is the company's vision to using capacity building to change the lives of people especially students.
Mr. Watungwa stated categorically that, the attainment of higher education is critical to the socio-economic transformation of every society, and this is the reason why the Chirano Gold Mines decided to prioritize these scholarships to providing higher education opportunities for local youth and granting funds to cover tuition.
According to him, the scholarship covers all tuition fees and academic payments, accommodation, and a monthly stipend for the entire duration of the beneficiary’s tertiary education.
He added that the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation Scholarship was inaugurated last year with an initial investment of 2 million dollars to spearhead development in its catchment area.
On behalf of the awardees the Western North Regional Education Director, Mr. Stephen Kwaku Owusu expressed their profound gratitude for the scholarship being given to the students.
He took the opportunity to advise the awardees to make good use of the scholarship and bring it back to the community for other students within the community to also learn from them.
