COVID-19: US Singer, Trey Songz Tests Positive

American singer, Tremaine Aldon Neverson, popularly known as ‘Trey Songz’ has tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

The 35-year-old father of one took to his Instagram account on Monday to share the news with his fans in a video he posted.

“I am here with a very important message to let you know I tested positive for COVID-19.

“I have taken many tests as I have been out protesting, food drives, of course, I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time it, unfortunately, came back positive.

"But I want to let you all know that will be taking it seriously’ and ‘self-quarantining until I see a negative sign.

He noted that 7.5 million Americans have contracted the virus, and that “one out of 1000 Black people have died from it.”

Trey Songz revealed that his grandfather passed away earlier in the year and while it wasn’t revealed that coronavirus was the cause of his death, he believes it to be so.

“My grandfather passed away early this year and while it wasn’t said that it was the virus, I do believe it was; so, I’ve always taken it serious.”

Advising his fans, he said: “I would also love to advise my fans to thread with caution to ensure they don’t get the virus.

“But if you contact it please take it serious don’t be like the President."

The reference to President Donald Trump came after he tweeted “Don’t be afraid of Covid” after his release from Walter Reed Medical Center Monday after he said he tested positive on Thursday and was hospitalized Friday.

Born Tremaine Aldon Neverson, the singer recently revealed that his eight studio album “Back Home” would be out later this week.
