David Moyes’ replacement at West Ham United has been revealed.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, former Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui will take over from Moyes next season.

He disclosed this in a tweet via his X account on Monday, May6, 2024.

This is coming less than 24 hours after Moyes’ side were thrashed 5-0 against Chelsea in the Premier League.

“Julen Lopetegui has agreed on terms with West Ham to become new head coach replacing David Moyes from next season.

“Lopetegui has accepted the #WHUFC proposal, ready to proceed to formal stages.

Details being finalised then contracts will be signed but agreement in place,” Romano tweeted.

The Spaniard was able to keep Wolves up last season after succeeding Bruno Lage at Molineux, but ended his tenure in August amid concerns over the club's financial situation and their inability to fulfil transfer promises made when he took over.

Lopetegui is understood to have 'accepted' West Ham's offer to take charge, with all parties now looking to finalise the details of his contract before putting pen to paper.
