FRESH details have indicated that the immediate past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Weija-Gbawe Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor's death was not natural.

In this sense, clarion call has been made to the family members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand to thoroughly investigate this untimely and painful death of the lake Kumor well before taking any action to perform the final funeral rites.

A deep throat sources at Weija-Gbawe recalled the actions of some aggrieved residents, particularly some affected land developers in Weija-Gbawe enclave to invoke curses of several river gods or deities on former MCE for supporting the late Minister of Finance, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah to forcibly taking over their lands from them.

They indicated that it was on record that these distraught land developers have organized series of press conferences to invoke curses on persons they say are forcibly taking over their lands at Weija-Gbawe.

The affected land developers ordered their deities and ancestors to deal with those involved and alleged to be operating under ‘orders from above," the sources noted.

The residents have gotten furious with the former MCE who was then the chairman of Weija-Gbawe Municipal Security Committe because whenever they reported the wicked actions of the late John Kumah for taking their lands from them, the MCE could not find solutions, but he would rather allegedly support Dr Kumah in different ways.

The affected land developers, the Soireenews. com gathered have petitioned the former MCE over the forcibly actions taken by Dr Kumah to take their lands but the former MCE has done nothing about their petitions.

Aside this development, the former MCE was reported to have not been in good talking term with many supporters and members of the NPP in the area.

The former has been accused to have threatened to take some of the NPP youths to the law court for accusing him of non performance and other  misconduct.

Information available to Soireenews.com indicates that some traditional officers were battling the late Mr Kumor.

It has emerged that the former MCE was not in good talking term with some prominent traditional officer holders in Weija-Gbawe, which reports have indicated that he has taken some of the traditional officer holders to the court.

Although the sources could have confirmed whether the curses invoked on the two have also caused the death of the former MCE, but they strongly stated that they suspected Mr Kumor's death was not natural and advised the family members to do the needful so far as Ewe customs and traditions are demand.

These advises, the sources noted should be seriously  by the family members of the former MCE.

This is because the Ewes are known for their strong religion of ancestor worship.

He was the first vice chairman of Weija-Gbawe Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

During his tenure, Mr. Kumor initiated numerous projects within the Municipality.

In December 2022, Mr Kumor was awarded the UCIA 2022 Dynamic Achievers Award for Excellence in Leadership.

The award was presented to Hon. Kumor (MCE) at the British Council Hall by the Global Executive College (GEC).
