A farmer has met his untimely death in Nambotre, a farming Community near Gbitiri in the North East Region.

The farmer identified as Fuseini was attacked and killed by a stray elephant at his farm in Nambotre.

Residents say, the deceased was working in his farm when the elephants appeared from nowhere, but in an attempt to prevent them from destroying his maize farm one of the elephants attacked him which led to his demise.

One of the elephants was shot dead by the locals when the news broke in the community.

The locals have shared the meat of the killed elephant for consumption.

Other communities attacked by the elephants include Soanvusi, Tuna, and Nasuan.

The deceased has left behind three wives and 13 children, the children comprise five girls and eight boys.
