Fulfill Your Employee Promises To The People Of Wassa Togbekrom Now --MP Mounts Pressure On Golden Star Wassa Mine
According to the legislator, it is a high time for the gold mining company to ensure of fulfilment of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that they entered with the people of Wassa Togbekrom.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Wassa East Constituency in the Western Region, Mr.Isaac Adjei Mensah, has called on the management of the Golden Star Wassa Mine Limited to fully fulfill its promise to the people of the Wassa Togbekrom to ensure peace, order and unity in the area.
According to the legislator, it is a high time for the gold mining company to ensure of fulfilment of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that they entered with the people of Wassa Togbekrom.
The intervention of the matter of the issue of the MP has followed the massive protest that saw about 900 frustrated residents of Wassa Togbekrom to hit the streets on Wednesday February 16, 2023 against Golden Star Wassa mine Limited for denying them employment after destroying their farm lands and water bodies.
To ensure peaceful co-existence in the area, Honorable Mensah has intervened and stressed the need for the gold mining company to provide the people with portable drinking water and also offer them permanent employments as the residents have demanded.
In an interview with of Wassaman Fm, Hon. Isaac Adjei Mensah also condemned the demonstration and advised the youth in the area to use a peaceful channel to register their frustrations rather than using demonstration.
He also appealed to Golden Star Wassa mine Ltd that, they should periodically review the MoU that they signed with the various communities within the mining catchment areas to meet the current needs of the people.
