Let's be servant leaders And Not Lords -Methodist Bishop Of Koforidua Diocese
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel K. Asare-Kusi, the Methodist Bishop of Koforidua Diocese, has appealed to leaders in the country to be servants and not Lords.
According to him, God has called each and every leader to work in humility, thereby emulating his shining example to the world.
He made the above statement when he inducted the Very Rev. Mrs. Constance Frimpong Wiafe-Abban in office as the Superintendent Minister for the Kyebi circuit in the Koforidua Diocese of the Eastern Region.
He explained that Jesus Christ offered help to the poor in society, hence the need for leaders at all levels to do the same.
He also advised other denominations to learn the best practices of the Methodist Church Ghana, especially in the area of social intervention, by caring for the aged in society.
"As leaders, let us care for the aged in society. It's our responsibility as church leaders to do so. The Methodist Church Ghana is doing its part. I am calling on other denominations to learn from the Methodist Church Ghana," Bishop Asare-Kusi added.
The induction service was under the theme: "Discipleship: Glowing into Christian Maturity - Ephesians 4:14-15."
Touching on the gifts from God, he advised the young ministers to be tolerant and not rush.
In addition, he admonished the newly inducted Superintendent Minister to continue with the policies and programmes of her predecessors to guarantee growth.
Bishop Asare-Kusi further cautioned the newly inducted Superintendent Minister, Very Rev Mrs Constance Wiafe-Abban Abban, to listen to the voice of God and act on it.
He was optimistic that the leadership style of Very Rev. Mrs. Constance Wiafe-Abban would move the Kyebi circuit and the church forward.
The Very Rev. Mrs. Constance Frimpong Wiafe-Abban, the newly inducted Superintendent Minister of the Kyebi circuit, was admitted to Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon to study theology at the age of 20 in the year 2008.
She was commissioned in June 2012 at the Thomas Clegg Methodist Church, Kaneshie - Accra.
In August 2015, she was received and ordained into full connexion at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral, Koforidua, during the Expanded General Purposes Council (G.P.C).
