The Egyptian president was given a pledge by Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid to look into media rumors of a mass burial containing Egyptian commandos slain in the 1967 conflict.

Archival information and eyewitness statements of the killing and internment of scores of Egyptian troops in Latrun, west of Jerusalem, were published in the Israeli newspapers Haaretz and Yedioth Ahronoth.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisibrought up the matter during a phone chat with Mr. Lapid, who responded that he had commanded a thorough and transparent inquiry and to notify Egyptian officials.
