National labour commission cannot function effectively with 'Bare Bones' Website - Bawumia

The Vice President Dr . Mahamudu Bawumia has assured the National Labour Commission of his assistance in improving on their services especially digitizing its operations.


He described the commission's website as 'bare bones' and therefore needs support as there is a lot on their shoulders.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the two-day National Labour Conference in  Kwahu- Nkwatia in the Eastern Region, Dr. Bawumia said will offer technical support to the commission to improve on their operations.

He said measures are also been put in place to ensure effective working conditions for employers.

However, in a communique issued at the end of the conference dubbed the "Kwahu Declaration," participants called the government to constituent a technical committee to review the disparities in the single spine pay structure, inequity salary administration, and weak conditions of service.

The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Ignatius Baffour Awuah who read the communique stated that the technical committee should be set up by the end of this month and the review should be aligned with the next budget statement.
