North East Regional Minister congratulates cross country athlete

The North East Regional Minister, Mr. Yidana Zakaria has congratulated Koogo Atia from the Sagadugu community for his excellent performance at the just ended Cross Country competition.

The athlete who represented the North East Region in the just ended 2022 National Cross Country Competition in Ada of the Eastern Region won the second position in the competition.

"The Chiefs and People of the North East region are grateful to you, for the worthy representation".

Adding that, "To the rest of the Team; both the athletes and the officials from the North East region, I equally congratulate you for your tireless and exemplary efforts".

According to him, the second runner-up has made the region very proud at the national level.

The Ghana Cross Country competition is geared to discover long-distance runners for the 2023 African games.

Annually, athletes are drawn from sixteen regions in the country partake in the 10-kilometer event.
