NPP group reject coming back of MCE, call on Tafo chief to desist from politics

Some constituency members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have pleaded with President Akuffo-Addo not to retain the incumbent Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Honourable Fred Obeng Owusu.
According to the group, the MCE's level of immeasurable incompetence coupled with disrespect, lawlessness and discrimination of people is the clear reason why the area is not developed.
Speaking to the media in a press briefing, Madam Ahwennie Bodom, Committee Chairperson of the Bediako Electoral Area and a member of NPP disclosed that the MCE has done nothing for the people within the municipality especially those within Pankrono.
She said despite huge taxes paid by the people within the area, there's nothing the MCE can boast of as an achievement.
"The MCE only came here to insult we the market women at Pankrono after he was exposed for selling eggs meant for covid 19 relief. There's nothing he can boast of as an MCE. You only become a tag when you criticize this intolerant MCE. Nana Addo should remove him if he indeed wants development and love of the people," she said.
The Chairperson, however, pleaded with the chief of Tafo, Nana Agyen Asare to desist from politics since chiefs especially those in the Ashanti kingdom are advised by Otumfuo to not take part in matters of political backgrounds.
Her humble plea comes following a recent bash given by the Tafo Chief to MP, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafua.
"We see nothing wrong with the MP, the MCE is the only problem," she said.
On his part, youth leader of the Concerned Group, Mr Akwasi Asare disclosed that there's nothing this MCE has offered to the people of Pankrono. He sighted an example of a hospital project at Pankrono has been left in limbo.
He said the former MP for the area, Hon. Akoto Osei initiated the project but has sadly been left unconcerned despite several steps to the MCE.
He accused the MCE for embezzling over 11 billion old Ghana cedis that was generated during the covid period and has also misappropriated a common fund that's meant for the area's development without rendering any account.
"There are lots of evil the MCE has done against the people within this municipality. He recently commissioned the MP's AstroTurf project without inviting him. He had the gut to insult our mothers in the Pankrono market here without a cause.
"Nana Addo must take note that the MCE Hon. Fred Obeng Owusu was never part of the campaign. He hates to see the MP do good things for the people of Pankrono, he will never do and doesn't want the MP to it also.
"If Nana Addo wants to succeed, he must immediately remove this incompetent MCE who doesn't regard anyone," he pleaded.
