Raheem Sterling says Manchester City has what it takes to beat Chelsea to win the Champions League on Saturday saying, the Champions destiny is in their hands to be crowned Champions for the first time in the European club competition final.

The former Liverpool forward says despite losing twice against Thomas Tuchel’s side in the past six weeks; the FA Cup semifinals and Premier League fixture, is still confident the Citizens will have their hands on the title.

Chelsea and Manchester City will play at the Estadio do Dragao on Sunday evening in Porto to decide who wins the Champions League trophy.

City are yet to register their name on the trophy but Chelsea’s win over the Premier League Champions will be the second time they have conquered Europe yet Sterling believes despite their skilful and talented young squad, City will win.

“We have played them twice and lost twice but this is a Champions League final. On the day, things are a lot different,” he told talkSPORTS.

“You go into it with a clean mindset, those games that happened against them in recent times go out the window. It is now about focusing on winning that trophy.

“The only things that can stop us are ourselves if I am honest. It is a game where I expect a difficult test but at the same time I expect us to pull through.”
