Member of Eastern Regional Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Eric Obuaba commonly known as Mr Green, has sounded a strong warnings to the NDC top gurus and members to desist from their continuous habit of lobbying for their favourite personalities to be selected as the rumming mate to partner the flagbearer of the NDC, former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 general elections.

Sending a stern warnings to those who are lobbying for their favorites to be appointed the running mate of the NDC, the young astute politician stressed that those lobbyists to allow the former President Dramani Mahama the time to choose his running mate.

According to him, the current phenomenon of scapegoating specific party members in the pursuit of securing the position of running mate for the distinguished John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has become a worrisome issue on various social media platforms.
"In my capacity as a concerned party member, I urge those individuals partaking in such activities to redirect their focus toward formulating strategies that will assist in mobilizing voters for the forthcoming 2024 election.
"The NDC, our party, follows Article 43 of our constitution, which mandates that the selection of a running mate for the presidential candidate must be done in consultation with the National Executive Committee and the National Council of Elders," he noted.
As per the aforementioned constitutional provision, he stated that it is imperative that party members exhibit patience and allow the presidential candidate and other relevant stakeholders to appropriately nominate a running mate.
He indicated that the party members who enthusiastically engage in lobbying for their preferred candidates to be appointed as the party's running mate must cease these activities, as they have the potential to foster division and confusion among the party's ranks.
He asserted that It is of utmost importance that we maintain the unity and integrity of our party to ensure a successful outcome in the 2024 election.
Mr Obuaba, therefore, implored all party members to align their efforts toward constructing a cohesive and robust NDC.
He stressed the need for the rank and file of the party to stop of engaging in divisive activities undermines the fundamental principles of democracy and fair competition within our party.
He indicated that it is crucial to demonstrate respect for the democratic processes and structures that have been established to ensure a transparent and inclusive selection of the running mate.
He noted that the excessive lobbying and finger-pointing can divert party members from the core objectives and mandates of the NDC..
"Rather than squandering valuable time and energy on personal ambitions, our focus should be directed towards devising strategies that boost voter engagement, expand our support base, and effectively convey our party's message to the electorate.
"Additionally, the detrimental effects of internal divisions can extend beyond our party itself. If potential voters witness disunity and infighting among party members, they may perceive our party as disorganized or lacking in strong leadership," he said.
This, according to him, ultimately, jeopardizes our chances of victory in the election and impedes our party's agenda.
Furthermore, he noted that the critical task of selecting a running mate should not be hurried or influenced by individual interests. 
The young NDC outspoken politician said it is imperative to meticulously consider the qualifications, experience, and capacity of each potential candidate to effectively complement the presidential candidate. By doing so, we can present a cohesive and capable ticket that resonates with the diverse electorate.
He noted that prioritizing the unity and integrity of our party is not only essential for the upcoming 2024 election but also for the long-term stability and advancement of the NDC. 
"By nurturing a culture of inclusivity and teamwork, we can attract more talented individuals who are willing to contribute their skills and expertise to further our party's mission.
"In conclusion, we must redirect our efforts towards strategic planning, promoting unity, and mobilizing voters for the approaching 2024 election. 
"By adhering to our party's constitution and refraining from engaging in divisive activities, we can enhance our chances of success and uphold the principles of democracy within the NDC," he stated.
