“That’s the price you pay when you open up to love” – Sarkodie
Sarkodie's most recent Instagram stories provide us a glimpse about what truly happened between them, even though he hasn't yet formally responded to the issues raised by the first-ever disclosure of his covert affair with Yvonne Nelson.
After publishing her memoir "I am not Yvonne Nelson" and disclosing that she had an abortion for the rapper in 2010 after a brief romance, the actress sparked a frenzy online.
She claims that she decided to have the abortion as a result of Sarkodie's refusal to assume parental duties.
On pages 88–95 of Chapter 8 of her new book, Yvonne Nelson describes the incident. She claims that Sarkodie and his manager at the time went with her to a clinic in Mamprobi to have the foetus removed after an unsuccessful attempt using drugs suggested by a friend.
Sarkodie has expressed some regret for what happened 13 years ago, however it seems like an indirect method of addressing the problem.
In a moving homage to his late attorney Cynthia Quarcoo, he confessed that sometimes the cost of opening oneself up to love is not worth it.
